Presented by Hillary Rubesin, PhD, LPC-S, REAT, and other ATI staff members

Please join us on Thursday, May 10th for a workshop exploring how expressive therapies (ET) are used within counseling with refugee and immigrant populations. This workshop is in conjunction with the Newcomers Art Show, opening on May 11th, which highlights the artwork and stories of over 200 refugees and immigrants living in the Triangle.
In this presentation, ATI staff will share a PowerPoint on the impact and uses of ET with newcomers in both school and community-based settings. Next, presenters will walk workshop attendees through the ATI art gallery, explaining specific ET directives displayed on the walls, and why these interventions were implemented. Finally, workshop attendees will have a chance to contribute to a collaborative art piece, to experience ET themselves.

ATI is an NBCC provider, and continuing education credits are available for mental health professionals for a small fee. All ticket fees are used to pay for NBCC membership dues, presenter fees, art materials, and ATI mental health programming for local underserved and uninsured populations.
